Here is our 2018 Nepal Photo Tour, an extraordinary destination that will be perfect for any photography lover, having countless opportunities for social, cultural and portrait photography and, at the same time, being a paradise for landscape photography, with the Himalayas as the background.
A very complete Photo Tour, that will begin in the capital, Kathmandu, declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. There, we will photograph its ancient bazaars or its medieval squares and palaces, but we will be also capturing the old Newari villages, which can be considered living museums and shrines of the local deities. At the same time, we will be able to photograph incredible portrait of the locals living in the area, as well as scenes from their social life and daily routines.
Furthermore, in contrast with the urban life, we will be photographing some of Nepal rural areas and its hill’s villages, as well as the lifestyle and ethnic cultures of the Tamangs and Gurungs. But also, we’ll capture places as Pokhara, the precious town by the shore of the scenic Phew Lake, and their surroundings, where we will be able to photograph the precious natural environment around us, amplified with the spectacular views of the impressive mountain peaks, reflected in the pristine waters of the lake, where locals and tourists enjoy with boats and canoes.
But, of course, a Nepal Photo Tour will always have to be focused on landscape. During our days in Nepal, we will photograph many of the wonderful natural sceneries that this country has to offer, including waterfalls, canyons, creeks… but specially the stunning Himalayas peaks. We will enjoy photographing several sunrises and sunsets as the light illuminates those impressive mountains.
Photographing these extraordinary locations on the best moments of light will be one of the main objectives our Nepal Photo Tour, so most of the days during our trip, we will be waking up early and staying out till late, so we can get the best from those special moments of light, sunrises and sunsets, when we will head to some of the most beautiful locations to get fantastic images, always searching for the best possible light.
Traveling with Juanra Noriega and Sergio Lanza, as well as with a guide expert in the area, and with the organization by ‘B the travel brand’. We will discover all the wonders of Nepal, a country blessed with natural beauty, but also with an incredibly rich cultural history. Join us in this spectacular Nepal Photo Tour and capture all the magic of this country with your camera.
After arriving and meeting at the airport, we will head to our hotel. We will have a talk about the trip, and then will have time to rest or to go for a walk.
We will stay this night at our hotel in Kathmandu.
We will visit the Swayambhunath Stupa on this morning, declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1979, more than 2000 years old. Also known as “Monkey temple”, this temple charms with its great dazzling Stupa, while at the same time, offering a view of Kathmandu city. The two thousand years old Stupa is the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal. There’s evidence to believe the hill was used for animist rites even before Buddhism arrived in the valley two thousand years ago.
After this, we will visit Patan (its old name was LALITPUR, “City of Beauty “), also declared a UNESCO World heritage site in 1979. Although now largely absorbed by greater Kathmandu, this once powerful independent kingdom still maintains a defiantly distinct identity. Compared to Kathmand, it is way less frenetic and more Buddhist (there may be a correlation). Above all, it remains a proud city of artisans, and we will be have wonderful opportunities to photograph the locals and their daily activities.
Patan is well known by its temples and handcrafts, besides the amazing creation of the beautiful fine decoration of Durbar Plaza, full of some of the finest pieces of Newari architecture of Nepal.
After some rest, we will go out to the Durbar Square area. This square, again declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, was always surrounded by an impressive architecture, including the Royal Palace (after having been moved there from the Dattaraya Square).
We will stay photographing the area until night, including the blue hour and its beautiful light and, at the same time, will be practicing more portrait and street photography.
Night at our Hotel Ganesh Himal
After breakfast, we will visit the Pashupathi Nath Temple & the Great Stupa of Boudhanath (UNESCO World heritage site in 1979) in the Kathmandu valley, a vast dome-shaped monument representing the Mind of the Buddha, which is the primary pilgrimage destination for Tantric Buddhists of the Himalayas and a major draw for Tibetan Buddhists from all over the planet.
Then, we will drive to Bhaktapur, another UNESCO World heritage site, declared in 1979. Bhaktapur is full of monuments, most terra-cotta with carved wood columns, palaces and temples with elaborate carvings, gilded roofs, and open courtyards. This amazing architecture will bring us constant photo opportunities. We will be able to capture many pagodas and religious shrines in this amazing city, but also its Art Gallery, which has a fascinating collection of ancient manuscripts, Thangkas, stone sculptures and antique paintings that belong to the Hindu and Buddhist traditions of various periods.
Then, we will visit Nagarkot, at 2,300 m above sea level, a place with amazing views of the Himalayas. From here, we will be able to spot and photograph many important peaks of this wonderful range, such as Langtang, Langtang- Lirung, Chobha Bhamre, Amadablam, Dorje Lhakpa, Gaurishankar and even Mt. Everest on a clear day. From here we will be able to capture excellent views of sunset and sunrise, with those impressive mountains as our background.

Situated on a hilltop, Bandipur captivates the visitors with its cultural appeal and pristine scenery. Bandipur Village has kept its ancient essence, and will bring us fantastic opportunities to photograph its architecture, incredible views, awesome caves and unspoiled landscapes.
Bandipur village has been described as a natural view tower; indeed, one can enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Annapurna Range plus the peaks of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Langtang from here. Apart from the stunning views of the Himalaya and the Marshyangdi Valley, a visit to the town is an opportunity to capture a close look at the Newar cultural life.
Some of the places we will be photographing at Bandipur are the Bindevasini, the Khadgadevi and the Chandi Devi temples.
